Facts

A fact looks wrong

Open the … menu on that card and tap Report This Fact. It opens an email with the card already filled in, so we know exactly which one you mean. Every fact in the regular decks is checked against its source, and View Source in the same menu shows where it comes from. Reports are read, and wrong cards are fixed or taken out.

Where do the photos come from?

From Wikimedia Commons. Turn a card over to see its photo; Photo Credit in the … menu names the author and the license.

Does it work offline?

Yes. The app carries hundreds of facts with it, so you can swipe without a connection. New facts, photos and Ask AI need the internet.

How does it work?

Type any topic and AI writes ten fresh facts about it on the spot. Tell Me More on a card does the same for that card's subject. Both run on Google's Gemini; the Privacy Policy says exactly what is sent.

AI didn't answer

Check your connection and try again. AI requests cost coins unless you have Premium, so make sure you have enough. Some topics are declined by design. AI facts are written on the spot and can be wrong: if one is, report it the same way as any card.

Coins, streaks and themes

How do I get coins?

By playing: quick games, the Daily Challenge and mastering a topic all pay coins. You spend them on AI topics, Tell Me More and themes. Premium doubles the coins you earn.

I missed a day and lost my streak

When a streak breaks, the app offers to repair it for coins. With Premium you also get a streak freeze every three days, which covers a missed day on its own.

Themes and app icons

Themes are bought with coins on the Themes screen. Each one changes the backdrop and the cards, and comes with a matching app icon.

Premium and subscriptions

What does Premium include?

Every topic every day, AI without coins, twice the coins for everything you do, going back up to ten cards, and a streak freeze every three days. It is a weekly, monthly or yearly subscription; if a plan starts with a free trial, the App Store shows its length before you confirm.

I paid but Premium isn't on

Open Premium in the app and tap Restore Purchases, signed in with the Apple Account you paid with. If that doesn't help, write to us.

How do I cancel?

Subscriptions are handled by Apple, so cancelling is done in iOS:

Open the Settings app.
Tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions.
Choose Factopia, then Cancel Subscription.

You keep Premium until the end of the period you have already paid for. A subscription renews unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are decided by Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Your progress

Is my progress saved if I change phones?

Your likes, collections, streak, coins and themes live on your iPhone, not on an account. They move to a new iPhone with an iCloud backup or a phone-to-phone transfer. Deleting the app deletes them, and we cannot bring them back, because we never had a copy. Premium itself comes back with Restore Purchases.

Widget, Siri and iPhone Duo

Add the Fact of the Day widget

Touch and hold the Home Screen, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and choose Factopia. Tapping the widget opens that fact in the app.

Ask Siri

Say "Tell me a fact with Factopia". The same action is in the Shortcuts app.

iPhone Duo

Factopia works on iPhone Duo both folded and open, and follows the phone as you unfold it.
